NIGHTRIDE
2024
RECAP

Howzit Guys and Gals,

The Hilton Off-Road Club and Iron Horse Productions would like to thank everyone who came out on the 4th of May and made the 2024 edition of the “Hilton Legend” night ride a memorable event.

Approximately 160 participants, including 110 bronze/silver riders and 40 gold riders, attended the event. About 70% of our participants were from Hilton/Howick/PMB, with the other 30% from Durban and greater KZN. We estimate that around 500 spectators partied up at Game Changer River during the gold race. The general feedback from gold, silver, and bronze riders has been extremely positive. In a poll conducted by Grant Nelson, 92% of respondents rated our event a perfect 10/10. There were no reported injuries on the day, and our sponsored ambulance from Midlands EMS stood still all day. Credit needs to go to Rodger Skene, Adrian Vermaak, and the rest of the HORC trails committee for designing the lekker trails. We had a 19km bronze loop, 20km silver loop, and a 6km gold loop.

Travis Teasdale sent the following voice note to the HORC trails committee after the event:

NIGHTRIDE
RECAP 2024

“Howzit Roj, hope you all good. Just wanted to say well done on setting up such a lekker course. It was one of the best and funnest races I've done in a long time. Did a loop around here today. I think I enjoyed riding it more in the dark than in the day. Thanks very much, and well done to you and the team for the cutting. I know how hard it is to do that sort of stuff. And also finding new trails. Flipping amazing work. Thank you!”
